xDSL (including ADSL and SDSL)
xDSL is a family of technologies that enables copper telephone lines to carry data-streams at high-speeds. Although such services are ubiquitous, performance is not always uniform as bandwidth is dependant on geographic location.
Our partners provide business grade xDSL lines that guarantee (SLA) the number voice calls and ensure that calls do not touch the public internet.
Common ADSL (or SDSL) broadband lines may cost less than leased line and yet provide a similar bandwidth. However, there are issues of service level to consider both in fault response time and contention ratio: some xDSL lines are shared between up to 50 other companies and / or residential use although the contention ratios for xDSL lines that we provision range from 20:1 to 1:1.
