500 Hosted is built on BroadWorks SIP based soft switch platform bringing together the “best of both worlds”; the reliability, functionality, rich application sets of a PBX with the flexibility and ubiquity of IP networks.
Network Security
There is no possibility of third party’s intercepting calls on the 500 Hosted network. User access to the system is strictly partitioned and there is rigorous, multi–layer authentication to the network core. The 500 Hosted network is distributed and patrolled 24/7.
In the event that service is compromised, all inbound calls can be automatically rerouted. When the router detects that the 500 Hosted network is available, normal service will resume. These failover actions are decision independent and will happen automatically.
Redundancy
500 Hosted is fully geographically redundant, featuring centralised decision making, policy management and call switching distributed across two London data centres. Connectivity into 500 Hosted is highly versatile. We can support service over the most cost effective access type that meets your requirement. Under our preferred deployment, customer call traffic will not traverse the public Internet and is “on net” to us. In this way we can control the quality of the call from the network core out to the end user telephone.
